Day 4+5: Ndutu Area

After breakfast, enjoy full days of game drives in the Ndutu Area. Explore the range of different habitats that include swamps, woodland, soda lakes and the world famous short grass plains. See great herds of wildebeest and zebra. During a short time frame around February, normally lasting for about 3 weeks, the majority of the wildebeest calve. The sea of grass provides little cover and the young are easy pickings for a variety of predators. Wildebeest calves can run minutes after they are born and within 3 days they are normally strong enough to keep up with the herd.Lunch, dinner and overnight at Ndutu Heritage Camp. Full board basis.

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater – often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only. Dinner and overnight at Acacia Farm Lodgein Karatu Area. Full board basis.
